When? Saturday 26th May
In this year’s Birmingham Pride Parade we have a place in the parade to showcase not only our club but our Pride at being part of an amazing LGBT+ community in Birmingham and equally Pride in ourselves as individuals and athletes.
Our focus for the parade will be ‘club colours’, so are asking people to wear Swift tops. If you don’t have a club t-shirt or vest, you will need to let us know in advance to collect beforehand or on the day. We have loan kit available in a range of sizes so if you need one, please e-mail [email protected] or speak to David our Race Secretary at a club run to advise on size & style preference (vest/tshirt – best fit available).
We would ask that no one attends in any additional costume or accessory that would detract or defer the focus of us as a running club from the crowds or may hinder them from running short sprints on the parade route.
We want to have fun but we want to show ourselves off as a serious running club too!
The schedule for the day will include a pre-parade breakfast close to the parade start and a post-parade chill out outside of the Pride Village.
We really look forward to marching with you all again this year and you’re all welcome to attend!!
Timeline:
9:00am – Pre-parade breakfast: Meeting at The Briar Rose, 25 Bennett Hill, B2 5RE.
11:00am – Gather for Parade in Town Hall Square, next to the fountain.
12:00 noon – Parade starts, fun ensues 🙂
14:00 – Post parade chill out: Meeting at Edwardian Tea Rooms, Museum of Birmingham. This is outside of the Pride zone so you don’t need to buy a Pride festical ticket to attend.
