Meet at the Solomon & Cutler Wetherspoon on Broad St from 9:45am for a breakfast before we head over to Centenary Square to gather for the Parade! Take this opportunity to get that face paint perfect
We will meet in Centenary Square from 11am, near the bike racks by the Library. Watch this space if that location needs to change for any reason (eg too busy or cordoned off). Please arrive by 11:30 LATEST to sign in for H&S etc.
Please wear your Swifts tops, bring some flags, whistles, face paint etc! It’s about having fun ourselves as well as showing visitbility for the club. And comfy shoes – or trainers! We will be doing our occasional sprints after all!
Everyone joining us for the parade please meet at 11am in Centenary Square, 11.30 at the very latest. We will be aiming for somewhere around or behind the library depending on how busy it is. There is a participants guide to read (which I will upload somewhere on this page or the group) and the register on the day is you agreeing to it. Essentially – no glass bottles, no consumption of alcohol on the parade, keep displays family friendly.
Swifts are in group C and should be leaving the square in the first 15 minutes (which is why we need people gathered in good time).
Please wear some Swifts branded things if you have them (as well as pride flags etc) – you don’t need to be in full running gear and be mindful of British weather.
Be aware that this event is photographed a lot both by ourselves and the public. It’s a wonderful event and a good way to advertise the club.
Last year a lot of us went for our first drink after the parade at the Fox and I think that was a really nice start to Pride and honour our host venue.
