AGM INFO:
For those that didn’t get the email (which means you weren’t on our membership list on 25/01):
When: Sunday 12th March 2023 (2.30pm start)
Where: The Fox Bar, 17 Lower Essex St, Birmingham B5 6SN
Nominations: Any registered member may stand for committee, and all committee roles are open to nominations.
How to be nominated: Submit your name to [email protected] by 3pm on Sunday 26th February 2023.
Next submit a paragraph, (max 250 words,) to tell the membership why they should elect you to the role. This should be sent to [email protected] by the same deadline, with “Swifts” and the position you’re running for in the subject. (The present Secretary is stepping down so we do not feel the need to use a 3rd party to collect these this year.)
Motions: Any proposed motions for the AGM should be emailed to [email protected] by 3pm on Sunday 26th February 2023.
Eligibility to vote: To attend and vote at the AGM you need to be a current member, and have filled in the membership form in the last year. You can still register for free or update your details here: https://forms.gle/EA9ChXNcnU7Vih9h6
Proxy voting: If you’re eligible to vote but can’t attend the AGM, you can nominate another member to vote on your behalf. Email [email protected] to nominate your proxy (with their permission) by 3pm on Saturday 11th March 2021.
If you are unexpectedly unable to attend on the day due to illness you can still get in touch to nominate a proxy and we will do our best to honour these. We can only guarantee proxies nominated by the deadline above.
Committee Roles: If you’re interested to stand for the committee, please look over the roles carefully before sending in your nomination. You can also talk to the current committee for more information.
Members are welcome to stand for any role, regardless of whether an existing Committee member wishes to stand again. As it’s important we get enough nominations to ensure a complete Committee, we would like to share the plans for the current role holders:
Ian (Chair) and Alex (Secretary) are stepping down at this AGM and not restanding for any roles.
Dean (Treasurer) will be restanding for Treasurer.
Darren (Media & Promo) will be running for Chair.
TP (Welfare) will be running for Secretary.
Kristian (Race Secretary) will be restanding for Race Secretary.
