This is an additional Swift event, that several members are running…. its an iconic race, attracting over 57,000 runners (including Mo Farah!), making it the biggest half marathon in the world! The race starts north of the city, passes over the Tyne Bridge (with Red Arrow fly bys), then proceeds through Gateshead & finishes by the coast at South Shields.

If you fancy joining the 7 Swifts Running this event you still can! The GNR ballot has already gone, but you can still gain a charity place, which usually has a commitment to raise £200+ in sponsorship – speak to David for guidance.

The weekend includes an GNR Expo & lots of official events in Newcastle during Saturday daytime. The Newcastle Frontrunners (NFR) 🏳️‍🌈 will be hosting a pasta party Saturday evening for any visiting LGBTQ+ runners. The actual race is Sunday morning, with a NFR post race social in the evening.

Something to consider if you’ve been inspired by our recent BBCHM half marathon runners!
